About Us

Bjarne Iversen (the original "Hiking Viking"), along with his wife, Inger, incorporated the Iversen Motor Company in January 1959 and began selling Chrysler/Plymouth vehicles at 201 E. Main St. in Santa Maria. In November 1964, he built a new facility at 1918 S. Broadway, approximately 2 miles south of the city limits in an oil field next to the then two lane Highway 101, and took on the Dodge and Dodge Truck franchises.

Sometime in early 1965, the Chrysler/Plymouths were moved to the new building on Broadway to sit along side the new Dodges. In 1995, the Jeep franchise was purchased to to complete the entire lineup of vehicles that Chrysler Group has to offer, which today still remains the only new car franchises handled by Iversen Motor Company.

Since the 1970's, an up-to-date Body Shop has been constructed to complement the award-winning Service Department. The Sales Department has expanded it's area of influence to include recreational vehicles & motor homes, trailers, and 5th wheels.

Today, Iversen Motor Company is the largest Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and RV dealer on the Central Coast of California.
